What is Evidence Based EFT?
Evidence Based EFT offers training in Clinical EFT — the form of EFT that has been tested in clinical research trials — for both lay people seeking accreditation and licensed health professionals wanting to upskill. The programme is developed and led by Dr Peta Stapleton, the world's leading researcher in the EFT field, and is recognised by the International Institute for Complementary Therapists (IICT) as an Approved Training Provider.
Accreditation as an EBEFT Practitioner is not required in order to practise EFT. However, for those who want to work at the highest level of competence and professional credibility, completing accreditation demonstrates a rigorous standard of training, self-work, and supervised practice. How the Certification Process Works
Under the new structure introduced in 2026, Freedom Techniques, as an Endorsed Certification Provider, acts as the certification body for EBEFT accreditation.
This means:
This structure gives you a single, consistent point of contact throughout your entire journey, with Naomi taking responsibility for your progress from first session to recommendation to EBEFT for your accreditation and final listing.
If you trained previously under the former EBEFT structure and are partway through your accreditation pathway, your progress is fully recognised. Reach out to discuss how the transition applies to your situation.
This means:
- Your mentoring is conducted by Naomi Janzen at Freedom Techniques rather than across multiple separate mentors
- Upon successful completion of all requirements, Freedom Techniques certifies you and recommends you to EBEFT for the ethics test, accreditation, and listing
- Your qualification is issued jointly — certified by Freedom Techniques and accredited by EBEFT
