GRANDFATHERING
Grandfathering is a pathway available to experienced EFT practitioners who have been trained and certified by a select number of recognised organisations, and who wish to become listed on the Evidence Based EFT website as an EBEFT Certified Accredited Practitioner. Rather than completing the full standard certification pathway from the beginning, grandfathering allows Freedom Techniques to assess your existing training and experience and determine what, if any, additional requirements need to be met before certification can be granted. It is a merit-based process and each application is considered individually.
The Grandfathering Process
You must be fully certified or accredited by one of the recognised EFT organisations below in order to apply for premium accreditation with Evidence Based EFT through Freedom Techniques.

If you have trained outside these bodies, Freedom Techniques encourages you to follow the standard certification pathway. Applications from pre-recorded online programmes such as Udemy, Centre of Excellence or similar are not accepted.
Each application is assessed on its own merits against the Evidence Based EFT approved Freedom Techniques certification requirements. The application and assessment fee is AU$440 and includes:
Upon successful completion of all Freedom Techniques certification requirements, you will be submitted to EBEFT for final accreditation. At that point the EBEFT Ethics Exam fee and EBEFT accreditation and listing fee will be payable directly to EBEFT.

- The 1-Day Clarity Tapping™ workshop
- A minimum of two video mentoring sessions with Naomi
- Additional individual or group mentoring sessions
- Written client session notes reviewed with Naomi
- The EBEFT Ethics Exam (paid directly to EBEFT at the time of submission for final accreditation)

The application and assessment fee is AU$440 and includes:
- Review of your application
- A face-to-face 1-hour closed-book verbal techniques and concepts review on Zoom with Naomi Janzen to assess your current level of comprehension
- Creation of your Freedom Techniques certification certificate upon successful completion of all requirements
Upon successful completion of all Freedom Techniques certification requirements, you will be submitted to EBEFT for final accreditation. At that point the EBEFT Ethics Exam fee and EBEFT accreditation and listing fee will be payable directly to EBEFT.
Renewal
Once accredited, maintaining your Freedom Techniques certification and EBEFT listing requires:
- $165 AU to Freedom Techniques every two years (billed annually at $82.50)
- $220 AU to EBEFT every two years for your listing (billed annually at $110)
- 12 hours of continuing professional development in EFT every two years, reported to Freedom Techniques

I am Already Certified
Q: I am a certified EFT practitioner and I would like to become an EBEFT Accredited Practitioner through Freedom Techniques. Is there a way to transfer over?
A: Freedom Techniques recognises only the certifications and accreditations whose curriculum and processes are well established: EFT Universe Certified Practitioner, EFT International Accredited Practitioner, and ACEP Certified Practitioner. Practitioners holding one or more of these qualifications with current status are eligible to apply for grandfathering. Each application is assessed against the full Freedom Techniques certification requirements and Naomi will determine what, if anything, needs to be completed before certification can be granted. Practitioners whose registration has lapsed, or who have been trained by an organisation other than the three above, are welcome to apply for the standard Freedom Techniques certification pathway, starting with the 3-Day EBEFT Practitioner Training.

Q: I got accredited with EFT International back when it was called AAMET. I haven't kept my accreditation current but I want to get back into practising and be grandfathered into EBEFT now that I have more time. What is the process?
A: Freedom Techniques accepts grandfathering applicants who hold EFTi accreditation, but this status must be current in order to qualify. The grandfathering process is designed for practitioners with an active and ongoing EFT practice. If your accreditation has lapsed, the standard certification pathway is recommended, starting with the 3-Day EBEFT Practitioner Training.

Can I get Credit for Other EFT Workshops and Client Work?
Q: I have taken numerous EFT workshops and have been using EFT with clients for many years. Can I get credit for my training and experience to go through the certification process faster, or receive any discount on workshops or mentoring?
A: As EFT has grown in popularity, many training programmes have become available around the world. While many are excellent, Freedom Techniques does not have the resources to individually assess every training programme for equivalency. The only pathway for credit recognition is via the grandfathering process, available to current holders of EFTi, EFT Universe or ACEP certification. The only discount available is the standard 50% off the 3-Day Practitioner and 2-Day Trauma workshops for practitioners who have previously completed those workshops and need to review.

Do you have Scholarships for Financial Hardship?
Q: Does Freedom Techniques offer any scholarships for people in challenging financial situations?
A: Freedom Techniques certification is a professional pathway for people with existing practices or who plan to use EFT in a professional capacity. Trainers and mentors charge standard professional rates for their time and expertise. For this reason, Freedom Techniques is not able to offer scholarships. If you believe your situation is unique, you are welcome to reach out to Naomi directly, though please be aware that financial hardship alone is not considered sufficient grounds for a discounted rate.

I did the EBEFT Training Before Accreditation was Offered
Q: I took the EBEFT workshop many years ago before accreditation was available and I am now interested in becoming properly accredited. Do I have to retake the workshop?
A: As the workshop has been updated since then and significant time has passed, the workshop will need to be retaken. Please contact your original trainer or Naomi directly about the 50% reviewer rate. If approaching a different trainer to the one you originally trained with, please attach a copy or photo of your original attendance certificate when you enquire.

Q: I hold an advanced or expert level certification with EFTi, EFT Universe or ACEP. Can I apply for grandfathering at the Advanced Practitioner level?
A: Advanced level grandfathering with Freedom Techniques is available only to existing EBEFT Certified Accredited Practitioners by special application — meaning the standard grandfathering process and foundational accreditation must be completed first. Practitioners holding an advanced certification with one of the three recognised organisations who are interested in eventually pursuing Advanced Practitioner accreditation are encouraged to mention this in their initial grandfathering application, and Naomi will discuss the pathway from there.
