Why do I have to do this?
Under the new structure, I personally certify each Evidence Based EFT practitioner, and that's a significant responsibility to take on. I'm not willing to certify someone whose work I haven't seen for myself, or whose knowledge of the techniques and concepts I haven't confirmed for myself.
Certifying on trust alone isn't something I'm prepared to do when my name sits behind it. The review is simply how I meet you, see your practice, and confirm for myself that you're ready. It's a one-time review, not a new recurring hurdle.

What the review involves
The review is two hours on Zoom, in two parts.
For the first 30 minutes, you screen share a recent one-hour EFT session you've video recorded with a client (not a family member). I randomly select a 30-minute segment from it to review with you.
For the remaining hour and a half, we do a closed-book verbal review/quiz of the techniques and concepts of Clinical EFT as taught in The Evidence Based EFT Manual. I'll ask you about the techniques and concepts, and how you'd apply them with different clients and issues.

What I'm assessing
I'm assessing foundational safety and competence. I'm not assessing polish or the art of delivery, and there's no expectation that you work the way I do. If you come prepared to demonstrate solid knowledge and your video shows you're a safe and competent practitioner, that's what the review is there to confirm.
If everything is at the required level, you sign my certification agreement and I issue you a Freedom Techniques certificate, renewed every two years. I then hand you back to EBEFT to update your listing to Evidence Based EFT Certified Accredited Practitioner

If further mentoring is needed
If I believe that you'd benefit from further mentoring before I can certify you - either because there were gaps in your knowledge of the techniques and concepts or I saw things of concern in the way you worked with your client - those hours are charged at my usual rate of $220 per hour.
Having said that, I want to reassure you that this isn't about the art of delivery. It's foundational safety and competence I'm looking for, and if you come to the review prepared and your video shows safe, competent practice, there won't be a need for additional mentoring.

The deadline
If you're already listed, you have until 15 December 2026 to complete your skills review with me. My certification deadline runs to the end of each year, so completing your review by mid-December leaves time for me to finish the certification admin and hand you over to EBEFT to update your listing and bring you into the new renewal cycle.
If you do not complete this by December 15, 2026 your Evidence Based EFT practitioner listing will be suspended until the next renewal cycle a year later and you must complete the skills review with me by December 15, 2027* to have your listing reinstated.
*After December 15, 2027 there may be additional requirements before certification can be granted.

Cost and booking
There are two payments to Freedom Techniques to become certified: the Skills Review, and a certification fee.

Once you've passed, a certification fee of $80 AUD (incl. GST) is due in December 2026. This covers the admin and your certificate, and it starts your annual Freedom Techniques renewal. It's lower than the standard $110 certification fee, in recognition of your move across to the new structure.
Renewal and recertification
From certification onward, your ongoing cost is lower than before. You'll no longer pay $295 a year to Evidence Based EFT on your individual accreditation anniversary. Your renewal now totals $190 a year on fixed dates, and it comes in two steps across the turn of the year: Freedom Techniques in December, then EBEFT in February. The two parts are split as shown below.

If you have not yet taken the Clarity Tapping 1-Day Workshop, which is now a requirement for certification, you have until December 2028 to complete it. It counts towards 7 hours of your CPD.
