10:11:30 From Kim Cobler : I have a friend who's son committed suicide a couple of months ago and of course is grieving. I would like to know about tapping on grief. since it isn't the same as finding an earlier event or is it? I would like to help her but am thinking she needs someone who is experienced in tapping with grief. 10:18:46 From helenepulnik@hotmail.com : I have several patients who are brand new to EFT. I have established rapport with them and I am offering 2 free EFT sessions ( I tell them I am practicing for certification). Most of them have stress, anxiety, food cravings, etc. When I ask them what the issue is that they would like to work on, often they don’t know what they want to tap on. What is the best way to get to their issue that can be tapped on? 10:19:29 From helenepulnik@hotmail.com To Naomi Janzen(privately) : I have several patients who are brand new to EFT. Most of them have stress, anxiety, food cravings, etc. When I ask them what the issue is that they would like to work on, often they don’t know what they want to tap on. What is the best way to get to their issue that can be tappe 10:22:07 From Sabin Aell : What if the clarity of a visual does not go down. it happens fairly often. 10:25:14 From Jess Johnson : I set people expectations by comparing it to losing weight- what works best is the slow and consistent route. You might make great progress on something quickly, but that doesn’t mean all issues and problems are over in six sessions 10:25:54 From Jess Johnson : I also stress the power of them doing their homework and asking questions when they come up. As EFT is a self help modality, I want them to understand how to do it in between sessions 10:26:13 From Jess Johnson : Hopefully that all makes sense, my brain feels distracted today 10:27:01 From Jess Johnson : @sabine, if the clarity doesn’t go down, I look to different aspects 10:27:05 From Jess Johnson : smaller aspects 10:28:14 From Sabin Aell : thanks Jess 10:28:28 From Jess Johnson : @helene- I find it super important that they have a goal in mind. I ask them to prioritize what they want to work on and how their life will look once they achieve that goal. I do all this in my discovery session so that at our first session we can get right to it :) 10:28:38 From Jess Johnson : You’re welcome, Sabine! 10:28:44 From Sabin Aell : what questions are essential at the intake session Naomi 10:28:49 From Trudi Ross : thank you 10:30:03 From Trudi Ross : thank you everyone great points 10:30:41 From Jess Johnson : Yes! I sometimes have a difficult time telling whether they are really tapping on the right area of the collarbone point 10:31:50 From Jess Johnson : I had someone who had a “long, slow fart” as we really collapsed something for her. She was like, “was that supposed to happen?!” I was like, “Well, if you feel good, sure!” 10:32:00 From Sandra Streit : I watched it! It was so good 10:32:46 From Trudi Ross : Hi Stephanie, I have been and EA with Melissas groups each week, it’s been amazing 10:33:00 From Trudi Ross : she put a message on the facebook page and she got a few of us to jump on 10:34:37 From Trudi Ross : I ran a tapping “lunch and learn” for a bunch of EA’s at AMP and a few days later one reached out to me to say she had a massive crying fit about 2 days later, so it’s important to make sure you tell everyone they are to stay safe and to reach out if they are feeling a big emotion. 10:35:38 From Nicola Dixon : I have a client who has had 12 sessions with me. He regularly goes back to the same childhood event. Each time I work on multiple aspects and manage to get the SUD's to 1or 2 I think were done then a couple of sessions later the event resurfaces again. Any tips 10:36:17 From Jess Johnson : Have you explored secondary gains? 10:36:53 From Jess Johnson : gain, not gains plural :) 10:37:56 From Nicola Dixon : I have tried but I haven't had any success in identifying any 10:38:13 From Jess Johnson : Totally agree with Trudi- I know Naomi always says (and so I copy her because I want to be her... but not in a creepy way)... 10:39:37 From Trudi Ross : I fart all the time when I tap! it’s great!! I tell people that that may possibly happen. 10:39:40 From Trudi Ross : :-) 10:39:44 From Jess Johnson : She says something like “You are responsible for your well-being, please reach out if you need assistance and you can find a practitioner at The Tapping Place or ask me for a referral/session”.... or something to that affect. But I love the wording “You are responsible for” or “Empower yourself to take steps for your wellbeing” 10:40:06 From Jess Johnson : Ha, Trudi! 10:44:30 From Sandra Streit : Is there any additional EFT tapping certifications or like a specific program or course through EFT Universe for tapping with children/in the schools? 10:45:51 From Trudi Ross : how to you manage when you’ve booked an hour session and it can take 50 mins to actually reach something and start to dive deeper, then you have to in a way start to sneak away. If they have another session, is that where you start again? 10:45:59 From Jess Johnson : I def scale my homework on who I am working with. 10:48:10 From Trudi Ross : working on teenager who is on meds? is that safe to do and do we need to inform who they are already talking to 10:48:16 From Jess Johnson : Trudi- yes, I do, but I check in with them first. I do a review of their goal and say “last time, we left off here, is that where you’d like to start?” 10:51:41 From Jess Johnson : i cant wait to tell my husband “I’m releasing traumatic energy” next time I fart in bed. 10:51:53 From Stephanie Wiand : LOL!! 10:53:24 From Jess Johnson : I notice a difference in sessions when I take even 5 minutes before hand to meditate on them getting whatever it is that is going to be most beneficial for them prior to the session. That’s another Naomi trick. 10:58:08 From Jess Johnson : Yes, Kimberly! I had to do this with a client the other day. She just wants to get rid of her emotion, so I can practically feel her rushing things to get to the other side. We’ve had to go very slow to really get her trusting the process. I had to do some tapping on feeling as though I was wasting her time (because this is a paying client), but I felt SO much better when I really released all that pressure I had on myself. 10:58:26 From Trudi Ross : great question Sandra, I think all kids need to know tapping, with my step kids and their anxiety over social media and what “snap chat” does especially, it would make a difference. I have tapped with my step son and the outcomes have been amazing 10:58:36 From Jess Johnson : Now, I keep her regulated, we go slow, and she’s making more progress. 11:03:59 From Sandra Streit : I so agree @Trudi! Social Media Dilemma on Netflix was very interesting around social media/mental health. I just recently went back to teaching Special Ed and I notice all my kiddos are SO resilient but they are definitely experiencing a lot of stressors. We already do yoga/meditation but I truly feel EFT would be such a helpful tool 11:04:44 From Trudi Ross : they are open to it as well. 11:05:09 From Jess Johnson : My life has gotten do much less stressful since i put major perimeters around social media for myself 11:06:26 From Trudi Ross : my stepdaughters high school did an anxiety session an she said it was amazing but it was just highlight that everyone may have it 11:06:39 From Trudi Ross : and she left feeling it was ok 11:08:20 From Trudi Ross : Brad Yeats videos are great, he’s quite fun 11:09:08 From Sandra Streit : Thats a great area to explore 11:09:14 From Sandra Streit : Thanks Kim 11:09:42 From Heather Jones : thanks guys! x 11:09:52 From Trudi Ross : thanks Naomi and everyone for your awesome tips :-) 11:09:52 From Angela Acosta : thank you!!!! 11:09:56 From Rachel COLEMAN : Thank you!!!! 11:10:05 From Sandra Streit : Thanks Naomi! 11:10:35 From Nicola Dixon : Thankyou!!
